"Applegate Special" Arizona Mtn. Kingsnakes These are some of the prettiest Kingsnakes on the market. We currently have 1.2 adults which are definite Het. for the "Applegate Special" morph(lacking black banding-leaving enhanced high contrast, red and white bands). Our breed stock was purchased directly from Bob Applegate complete with great looks and individual serial numbers. We were able to produce a gorgeous male "Special" in 2003 who was held back as a future breeder. Using this male the outcome of our breeding efforts will be streamlined with the production of “Applegate Specials” and 100% heterozygous siblings. We hope to bring him on line in 2006.

( Lampropeltis getula floridana ) We bought a trio of these a few years back and 2003 was their first breeding year. These are Steve Osborne stock and all three are double het. for snow (lacking black, yellow, and red coloration). Statistically, one out of sixteen eggs should hatch out as a snow. Even if Lady Luck doesn't smile our way, we'll still be happy to have the associated Extreme Orange Lavender albinos, axanthics and “normals” . All offspring will be genetically loaded in some fashion for the axanthic or lavender albino or even snow traits. |

Outer Banks Kingsnakes We fell in love with these Kingsnakes the very first time we visited Jim Kane's website back in the late 1990's. Jim had a phenomenal collection of these Hatteras locality animals and we were lucky enough to pick up a gorgeous pair of yearlings prior to his exit from the retail business. Thought to be a relic intergrade between L. g. getula and L. g. floridana, these animals possess a great disposition for a medium sized kingsnake. Our breeders produce some very nicely speckled hatchlings. We have also discovered that this pair also produces aberrant patterned Outer Banks kings as well. Another Split Rock Reptiles favorite! |
