Rio Conchos, Chihuahua, Mexican Mountain Pinesnakes
(Pituophis deppei deppei)
These awe-inspiring animals originate from the Rio Conchos area near San Juanito, in the State of Chihuahua, Mexico. Habitat elevations here in the Sierra Madre Occidental Mountain range, are approximately 7000' above sea level. Pure Locality Deppei deppei, these snakes are defined by their full palette of soft pastel color variations as they enter early adulthood. Our Deppei deppei have blazing red-orange tails. As with all Deppei deppei, hatchlings look nothing like the adults until they complete their ontogenetic color change. Limited numbers available in 2006.

Ocean Co. NJ Locality Northern Pinesnakes
(Pituophis melanoleucus melanoleucus)
This line of Northern Pines originates from offspring of two wild caught gravid females collected just south of Whiting (off Route 539) in Ocean County, NJ back in the summer of 1974. The original collector is still breeding this same line of of Ocean County Pinesnakes today.

Ocean County is in the heart of the New Jersey Pine Barrens, a 1.1 million acre National Reserve located on the Outer Coastal Plain of southern central New Jersey. Northern Pine snakes are on the threatened species list in NJ and collection of them and other native NJ species is now prohibited. (norpinesnake.pdf)
